White Screen
Fill your whole screen with plain white in one click. Use it as a soft light, to see dust and smudges while you clean, or as a blank page. Pick another color or download a plain white image.
White
100% is as bright as your screen allows.
Click the preview to fill your screen. Move the mouse or tap to show the controls, or choose Hide to keep them away until you click or tap. In full screen, use the left and right arrow keys to change color, the up and down arrow keys to change brightness, H to hide or show the controls, and Esc to exit.
What the white screen does
It turns your whole display into one solid white surface. The page switches to full screen, so there is no browser bar, taskbar, or dock in the way, and the controls fade out after about a second.
A plain white screen gives off an even light and shows anything that is not white: dust, fingerprints, streaks, and pixels that do not light up.
Why use our white screen
- ·True full screen. One click covers the whole display, with nothing left on screen once the controls fade.
- ·Brightness and warm white. Dim the white or switch to a softer, warmer white for video calls.
- ·Screen stays on. In most current browsers, your screen does not dim or lock while the white screen is open.
- ·White images in any size. Download a plain white PNG at 1080p, 4K, a phone size, or your own width and height.
- ·Free and private. No signup, no download, and it runs entirely in your browser.
How to make your screen fully white
- 1
Pick a color
White is selected already. Pick warm white or another color under the preview, or type a hex code, if you need one.
- 2
Set the brightness
Leave the slider at 100% for the brightest white, or lower it for a softer light.
- 3
Open the full screen
Click the preview. Your whole screen fills with the color. The controls fade after about a second, or choose Hide to keep them away until you click or tap.
- 4
Exit when you are done
Press Esc, or move the mouse or tap the screen and choose Exit.
Using a white screen as a light
A spare monitor, tablet, or phone showing a white screen makes a soft, even light. It is not as strong as a real lamp, so it works best in a dim room or as a fill light.
- ·Video calls. Place the screen in front of you, close to your camera, so the light falls on your face instead of from behind. Try warm white if pure white makes your skin look pale or blue.
- ·Photos. Hold a tablet or phone just out of the shot to fill in shadows on small objects or faces.
- ·Tracing. Lay a tablet flat, open the white screen, and put thin paper on top to see a drawing underneath. Draw lightly so you do not press on the screen. A hand on the screen counts as a tap and brings up the controls, which fade again after about a second.
- ·A quick night light. Lower the brightness slider and pick warm white or orange for a gentle glow.
Why your white screen looks dim or yellow
A web page can only show white at the brightness and color your device allows. If the white screen is not as bright or as white as you expect, check these settings:
- ·Screen brightness. Turn it all the way up. The brightness slider on this page can only make the white dimmer, not brighter than your screen allows.
- ·Auto brightness and battery saver. Both can lower the brightness without asking. Turn them off while you use the screen as a light.
- ·Blue light filters. Night light on Windows, Night Shift on a Mac or iPhone, True Tone on Apple devices, and eye comfort or night light modes on Android all tint white toward yellow.
- ·Dark mode extensions. A browser extension that darkens web pages can turn the white screen gray or black. Turn it off for this site.
White screen keyboard shortcuts

| Right arrow | Next color |
| Left arrow | Previous color |

Who uses a white screen
- ·People on video calls. Light their face from a second screen when the room is dark.
- ·Anyone cleaning a screen. Dust, smudges, and streaks are easy to see on white. Black shows them well too.
- ·Artists and crafters. Turn a tablet into a light box for tracing drawings or patterns.
- ·People checking a screen. Spot dark pixels, uneven backlight, or burn-in on a plain white or gray background.
- ·Photographers. Use a tablet or phone as a small fill light for close-up shots.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I make my screen completely white?
- Click the white preview above. The page switches to full screen and fills your whole display with plain white, with no menus, taskbar, or address bar. The controls fade after about a second, so nothing is left but white. Choose Hide to keep them away even when you move the mouse.
- How do I exit the white screen?
- Press Esc on a keyboard. With a mouse, move it to bring back the controls and click Exit. If you hid the controls, click once to bring them back first. On a phone or tablet, tap the screen and then tap Exit.
- Can I use a white screen as a light for Zoom or video calls?
- Yes. Open the white screen on a second monitor, a tablet, or a phone, and place it in front of you, just behind or beside your camera. Warm white is often more flattering on skin than pure white. A screen is a soft, weak light, so it helps most in a dim room.
- Why is my white screen not bright enough?
- A web page cannot make your screen brighter than its own brightness setting. Turn your screen or device brightness all the way up, and turn off auto brightness and battery saver, which can dim the screen. Then check that the brightness slider on this page is at 100%.
- Why does my white screen look yellow?
- Usually a blue light filter is on, such as Night light on Windows, Night Shift on a Mac or iPhone, or True Tone on an iPhone or iPad. Turn it off to see pure white. Also check that you picked White and not Warm white.
- Will my screen stay on while the white screen is open?
- In most current browsers, yes. While the white screen is open, the page asks the browser to keep the screen on, so it does not dim or lock. This works in recent versions of Chrome, Edge, Safari, and Firefox. In an older browser, the screen may still turn off after your device's normal timeout.
- Can I download a plain white image?
- Yes. Under Download image, pick a size such as 1080p (1920 × 1080) or 4K (3840 × 2160), or type your own width and height up to 8000 pixels, then choose Download PNG. You get a solid white PNG at exactly that size, which works as a blank background in an image or video editor.
- Why does the white screen not go full screen on my iPhone?
- Browsers on iPhone do not let web pages switch to full screen. The white screen still fills the browser window, but the strips behind the address bar and toolbar are not covered. On iPad and on computers it goes fully full screen.
- Does a white screen fix dead pixels or screen burn-in?
- No. A plain white screen makes dead pixels and burn-in easy to see, but it does not repair them. To check for bad pixels across several colors, use our dead pixel test. For a pixel stuck on one color, try the stuck pixel fixer.
- Is this white screen free?
- Yes. There is no signup and nothing to download. It runs entirely in your browser.
